Two HSR race weekends a year at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta (MRRA) is twice as nice for the growing population of competitors and racing teams based at or near the legendary road course North of Atlanta. Each April’s blockbuster HSR The Mitty presented by Hagerty at Michelin Raceway is followed every autumn by the HSR
Classic Road Atlanta 10 Hour presented by Mission Foods and HSR Fall Historics weekend, which returns to MRRA in two weeks, September 16 – 20.
Tyler Hoffman and his burgeoning Kingpin Racing team are not only based in the greater Atlanta area, their team shop is located at the nearby Technology Park facility
located just outside of the MRRA main gate.
“Having HSR come to our home track twice a year is not only a huge advantage but something we look forward to not once but twice,” Hoffman said. “It’s the best, a big
showing for all of our clients, all of our drivers and big events for the families too who come out and show their support. Getting them involved with everything we get to do at the track with HSR is a great blessing.”
Kingpin’s Classic 10 Hour and Fall Historics lineup is a stout group of Mission GT Challenge presented by Pirelli entries and other GT Modern (GTM) machinery. The list
includes Scott Rowbotham, who is entered in a pair of Porsche GT3 Cup entries, including a No. 888 Porsche 991.2 GT3 Cup with Hoffman himself as the Classic 10
Hour co-driver. The Kingpin armada also includes Porsche Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport drivers Michael Nance, Keith Holdrooks and John Eddlemon.
Frequent HSR race winner Kevin Clayton, who drove his Kingpin prepared 2003 No. 03 Mercedes-AMG GT4 to a B.R.M. Endurance Challenge class victory in the 2025 HSR The Mitty, is also part of Kingpin’s stacked lineup in the Fall Historics.
Hoffman, his wife, Shannon, and their dogs, Archer and Lilly – both from Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta – live in Chamblee, just 40 miles from Road Atlanta.
“It’s really great to be able to just go home and see our dogs, if they aren’t already coming to the track, which they normally do,” Hoffman said. “Not worrying about leaving, packing and laundry for a change is the best. Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta is 100% our home track.”
That connection to Road Atlanta is equally strong for 1964 Morgan 4/4 driver Stacey Schepens, whose family’s racing heritage is deeply rooted in the circuit. A Georgia
resident who lives just minutes from the track, Schepens continues a family legacy that began with the involvement of her father, "Super Dave" Bondon, in HSR and has since continued through her and her brother.
“I live about five miles from Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta,” Schepens said. “So, when I tell people when I come here, it’s like coming home. My dad started racing with HSR before I was doing any racing, so you know HSR is in my blood.”
Now a Georgia resident and Road Atlanta local, open-wheel driver Alex Berg has also built much of his racing career around the Peach State circuit. Berg currently competes in junior contemporary open-wheel series with his family-run team – including his father and former Canadian Formula 1 driver Allen Berg – but he continues to make time for HSR events at Road Atlanta, most recently competing at The Mitty alongside mentor and HSR stalwart Travis Engen.
“Our family is from Canada but currently I’m local here to Road Atlanta,” Berg said. “We’re growing our racing team based here in Georgia, which is where we live. Business has been good so far, and I’m becoming a lot more integrated in part of the business as I get older. Travis usually has a spare or extra car, so he called up and
asked if I wanted to drive one of his Lights cars.”

Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
