HSR “Pies for Paws” Fundraiser Returns at The Mitty

DAYTONA BEACH, Florida (March 25th, 2026) – Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) is bringing back one of its most entertaining fundraisers, the HSR Pies for Paws Fundraiser during The Mitty at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

Vintage Racers For Rescue

All proceeds from the event will benefit Vintage Racers for Rescues (VRR), the official charity of Historic Sportscar Racing. VRR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue dedicated to saving the lives of dogs and cats.

“We’re incredibly grateful to the HSR community for embracing such a fun event that directly helps save animals’ lives,” said Robyn Handy of Vintage Racers for Rescues. “It’s the perfect combination of racing camaraderie, laughter, and giving back.

The pie in the face fundraiser came to life in 2018 from an HSR staff member who put that idea into action. It was done as a live auction during the family reunion in the paddock, having audience members bid so they could choose an HSR staff member to pie in the face. Any HSR staff member that was willing to take a pie to the face stood in front of the room, and watched as the competitors, families and friends pooled their money so they could be awarded the honor of pie-ing one lucky staff member.

During the inaugural fundraiser, David Hinton was pied in the face and with an impromptu twist, a racer purchased a second pie and David turned the tables to pie his wife, Denise in the face, making it a truly unforgettable event.

If you have a staff member you want to throw a pie at, now is your chance! It is all taking place during the Family Reunion at The Mitty, on Friday, April 24th at 6:20pm. Attendees are invited to join the fun, bid high and bid often, and support a great cause benefiting animals in need.
