– HSR Driver of The Year David Agretelis Rebounds from Friday’s Near-Miss to Win B.R.M. Legacy Endurance Challenge Race Overall Saturday Morning
– Reigning Series Champions Pierce Marshall, Eric Foss and Matador Motorsports Pick Up Where They Left Off with Season-Opening HSR Prototype Challenge Presented by Michelin Enduro Victory
SEBRING, Florida (February 14, 2026) – The season-opening HSR Sebring Pistons & Props, presented by Alan Jay Automotive Network, hit high gear Saturday at Sebring International Raceway with a non-stop schedule of HSR sprint and feature races. Among the day’s winners were HSR Driver of The Year David Agretelis in his 901 Shop 1974 No. 92 Porsche 911 RSR and reigning HSR Prototype Challenge presented by Michelin series champions Pierce Marshall, Eric Foss and the Matador Motorsports 2017 No. 02 Cadillac Dallara DPi team.
Shaking off a disappointing third-place finish in Friday’s first Sasco Sports International/American Challenge sprint race of the season, Agretelis and the 901 Shop set the winning pace from the drop of the green flag in Saturday morning’s one-hour B.R.M Legacy Endurance Challenge race. Agretelis took the checkered flag with a 7.550 second margin of victory over Friday’s Sasco winner Fritz Seidel in his Ecurie Engineering 1973 No. 21 Porsche 911 RSR. Agretelis and Seidel were the top-two finishers overall and in the Historic division.
Damon De Santis and David Hinton co-drove to third in Historic in the 1974 No. 82 AJR Heritage Motorsports Porsche 911 RSR, but the Vintage-class winner showed just enough pace to edge the No. 82 team for the final overall podium position.
Regular HSR race winner and podium player Todd Treffert finished fourth and just off the podium behind the 3-liter 1970’s era No. 92, 21 and 82 RSRs in Friday’s Sasco opener but ran competitively with the whale-tail crowd Saturday morning.

Treffert won the Vintage class and took the checkered flag third overall in his 2.5-liter 901 Shop 1972 No. 141 Porsche 911 S/T. In another competitively diverse HSR podium, Treffert shared the Vintage rostrum with Travis Engen in his GMT Racing 1962 No. 1 Lotus 23b and the always quick 901 Shop 1972 No. 8 Porsche 914/6 GT of Tom McGlynn.
Marshall and Foss were joined in the Prototype Challenge win column by overall runner-up finishers John Reisman and Tristan Nunez who also scored the P3 class victory in the Hudson Historics 2020 No. 74 Ligier JS P320. Chip Romer took the checkered fourth overall and the P2 class win in the 2018 No. 5 Ligier JS P315.
An off-track highlight Saturday was the annual presentation of the popular Pilots Choice Award that sees the attending aviators at each year’s event select the best HSR car and team of the weekend. The 2026 selected winner is Brian Tyler, a back-to-back USAC National Sprint Car Champion in 1996 and 1997, and his powerhouse Silver Crown team of V-8 powered open wheelers. Tyler still competes in traditional Crown cars oval track racing – running recently in the 2025 Rich Vogler Classic at Winchester Speedway – but he and his team have also perfected the speedway-aero versions of the cars into formidable road racing contenders in recent years in HSR.

This weekend Tyler (No. 99) and teammate Mike Hoover (No. 14) compete in a pair of 2005 C&R Lightning Crown cars.
